In today’s digital world, attention is hard to earn and even harder to keep. Karan Gupta has built his career around solving that problem. He sits at the intersection of technology, design, and storytelling. His work focuses on how ideas become real products and how those products reach people in meaningful ways.
“I’ve always been interested in how things come together,” Karan says. “Not just building something, but building something that people actually care about.”
This mindset has shaped his path from an early age to where he is today.
Karan Gupta grew up in San Francisco, a city known for innovation. He was raised in an environment that encouraged curiosity and creativity. From a young age, he explored how technology and design influence daily life.
“I didn’t see technology as separate from people,” he explains. “I saw it as something that shapes how we live and connect.”
That early perspective gave him a strong foundation. It pushed him to think beyond tools and focus on impact.
Karan attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he studied Media Studies and Entrepreneurship. During his time there, he did more than attend classes. He built.
He launched a digital magazine and a city-focused podcast series. These projects were not just side activities. They were early experiments in audience engagement and storytelling.
“I wanted to understand what makes people pay attention,” Karan says. “What makes them come back.”
Through these initiatives, he gained hands-on experience in content creation, project management, and leadership. He also learned how to build something from scratch and grow it over time.
“These projects taught me how to listen,” he adds. “If you don’t understand your audience, nothing else matters.”
